Hand-bent approximation

SureSmile, as described by the practice

That is the whole job. Scan it, plan it, bend it, and let the wire do the moving.

Four bends. In order, or one at a time.

Average treatment time with SureSmile is 30% or more faster than conventional braces.*

*Based on a comparison of 1,849 patients treated conventionally and 4,376 patients treated with SureSmile.

The wire is the prescription. A scan of your teeth becomes a plan, a robot bends the wire to that plan, and when the wire goes in, each tooth moves to the position it was given.

  • Shorter treatment times

Each wire is engineered for one stage, so the teeth move at the rate the plan expects.

  • Fewer office visits

Less to adjust in the chair, because the wire arrives already bent.

  • Less overall discomfort

Fewer adjustments mean fewer sore days after an appointment.

Treatments15

Fifteen services, one line each.

The names are the practice's own, from their services pages. What each one means, in plain words.

  • Orthodontics for children

Crowding, bite problems and jaw growth, treated at the age when each is easiest to correct.

  • Orthodontics for adults

About one in five orthodontic patients is over 21. The same braces and aligners work at any age.

  • Early (two-phase) treatment

A first phase while the jaw is still growing, then a second phase for the teeth once they are all through.

  • Traditional metal braces

A bracket on each tooth and a wire through the slots. The least expensive option, and still the most dependable way to move a child's teeth.

  • Clear ceramic braces

Tooth-coloured brackets, mostly chosen by adults. The ceramic takes more care to keep clean.

  • Self-ligating braces

The same materials as metal braces, with a clip instead of the elastic, so fewer adjustments.

  • Lingual braces

Brackets bonded behind the teeth. Nothing shows, but complex bite work is harder to do this way.

  • Clear aligners

Removable trays worn about 22 hours a day, out for eating and brushing.

  • Invisalign

A clear aligner system, planned in advance and worn as a series of trays.

  • SureSmile

A wire bent by a robot to the prescription for your teeth, instead of by hand.

  • Surgical orthodontics

Braces alongside jaw surgery, for bite problems that sit in the jaw itself.

  • Dentofacial orthopedics

Guidance of the jaw and face while a child is still growing.

  • TMJ treatment and splint therapy

Care for jaw joint pain, including a splint made for you.

  • Retainers

What holds the result once the braces come off.

  • Emergency care

A poking wire, a loose bracket, something sore. Call the office.

The visit

Braces should be fun. Their word.

We try to make braces fun by giving rewards for everything from having good hygiene and not breaking brackets to sharing pictures on social media and wearing rubber bands. We provide patterns of colored ties for all the kids and tell lots of funny jokes.

The team handles insurance claims and payment plans too, and one of them is the ForwardHealth and BadgerCare coordinator.

Kids have the ability to select the color of their rubber bands, and can change them at each visit.

What patients wrote.

Three from their reviews page, with the names they published.

I would give 10 stars if I could! The staff was great, kind, helpful, and fun. As an adult who never had ortho as a child, I wasn't sure what to expect but Dr Bruce gave me a gorgeous smile!

Molly Nordrum

Having a son with Autism I wasn't sure how he would do getting braces. The staff was over accommodating by taking it slow, showing him the different tools and explaining steps they were doing. They allowed him to choose his color bands which he liked.

Theresa Jarvis

Love the personalized attention that we receive. The staff all seem to enjoy their jobs and even continue to ask about my daughter who completed treatment over one year ago!
